With the score of 1 -2, Philippine Azkals failed to win the game versus Mongolia’s Blue Wolves, but the PHL Azkals still advances to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge Cup group stage.

By virtue of the Azkals’ winning the tie, 3-2, on goal aggregate during the second round of their 2-leg qualifier match that took place at the Mongolian Football Federation (MFF) Football Centre in Ulan Bator, the Philippine sensational football team’s quest for glory continues.

In yesterday’s match in Mongolia which was aired by Studio 23, the Philippines took an early lead when James Younghusband hit a goal in the third minute of their match but Mongolia pulled one back in 21st minute through their skipper, Lumbengarav Donorov.

Mongolia sealed the win after Garidmagnai Bayasgalan scored again on the rebound off penalty during the 34th minute of the game.

The PHL Azkals will face Myanmar next on March 21, and will try to compete against the team from Palestine on March 23 and then a match against Bangladesh on March 25.
