Posts Tagged ‘blog’

Since last month, I was able to launch successfully my new blogsite – . This site will focus more on travelling and some personal things about myself.

Initially, posts from my Singapore and Macau travels are in there. I also have a couple of authors but their articles are yet to be posted.

Given this chance, i may not be able to update the broken piggy bank site regularly as I will be focusing more on the gimik book, if you have time, please do visit my new site and I will be thankful if you do that.

Thanks for patronizing the broken piggy bank, and thanks (in advance) for visiting the gimik book.

Take care!

If Twitter asks: “What Are You Doing?”, Yammer asks: “What Are You Working On?”

What the heck is Yammer??

Yammer is a microblogging service launched in September 2008. Like Twitter, it allows users to post updates of their activities, follow others’ updates, tag content, and create memes. Unlike Twitter, Yammer focuses on businesses, and only individuals with the same email domain can join a given network.

Yammer is a free service, but companies can claim their networks to get administrative rights and security features for three dollars per user per month.

What are the Features of this cool site?

In addition to standard microblogging features like posting messages, addressing messages, following people, Yammer offers the following features:

  • Replies and threads
  • Tags
  • Public and private groups within the network
  • File and photo attachments
  • Sending and receiving messages via IM, SMS and Email
  • iPhone, iPod touch, Android (beta version avaliable) and BlackBerry clients
  • Security features like removing users who no longer work at the company, IP restrictions, etc.
  • Network color and logo customization
  • Social bookmarking
  • A RESTful API (uses OAuth for authentication)
  • SSL

So lemme ask you… What are you working on?
